It is a BMW/VW 'euro tuner' thing. There are some pics floating around the web of a 528? done in complete rust. It is a sweet looking car. How did you do your rust?

salt/vinegar/peroxide mixed together, and rubbed over the bare metal with an sos pad :D. Wait 3 hours after the first coat and put a second coat on to make it runny and streaky, then put another coat on after 3 more hours and let it dry over night to seal it all together. I skipped the 3rd coat on the hood and it all washed off on the way home in the rain, lol. Of course it will rust by itself too, but that takes longer :D.

Those bits were going to need a repaint anyway, I did a good job hiding the peeling clearcoat in my pics, but it looked like shit. I'm glad I did it, and I'm definately going to rock it for a while, but rest assured I will eventually be reshooting the entire car. I'm keeping the rusty hood and trunk though as alternates :D.

I believe that it is an aquired taste, sort of like the rusty rat rod craze not to be confused with the retro rod stuff. Personally, I think it looks sick in the best way possible. If I had a spare hood, I would definitely rock this look occasionally. I like the idea of spare hoods and such... need to start collecting parts.

I can imagine trying to argue with the insurance company when it gets smashed... :P

"No, it looks like this on purpose. It's not really a rust bucket."

"Sure. Whatever you say sir."

No, they were an aftermarket wheel made by ARE. But you'd be surprised what you find in the junkyard, these were so ugly when I bought them, most people just pass this stuff by in the junkyard, but with a little hardwork I turned a set of $100 wheels into something I could sell for $400 easily :D.

^ Thanks man! I wanted one of these for years, most people don't understand the attraction, but just ask a cressida owner, they're great!

haha, found a big electric bell at my brother's house when we were getting stuff out of the garage for a garage sale. So, naturally I hooked it up to my horn button, lol. Sounds like a super loud old lady bicycle bell :D. I'll bust it out at the next meet!

backing out of my parking spot at work, some dood barrels around the corner in a toyota pickup, tags me as I'm backing up. We have surveilance video of him speeding and hitting me even though nearly have my car was in the street at the time, and he would have had plenty of time to stop had he been 1:going the speed limit 2: paying attention. He didn't even hit his brakes until about half a foot before impact :(, maybe I'll post the vid up later if I can figure out how, lol. Anyway, the officer said I was at fault, even after seeing the video, so we'll see. I'm going to contest it, hopefully it'll get dropped.
