Hiya All

Ive managed at last to source myself a new project. Its a 1972 KGC10 Skyline. Now at the moment its got standard arches and some nice old style mag wheels but im looking to arch the car and fit some better wheels etc.

Can any of you guys help me source the above parts and anything else that might be nice. Im liking the original datsun racing bucket seats and such.

Please help.

DaveW

In terms of ease of communication, your best bet is probably Kameari Engine Works, and they have all the bits you need.

They also have replica GT seats too :)

They can do foreign orders, so while there are lots of brands for these things, it might make most sense for you to get as much as you can from the one source and get it shipped over in one go.

Oh and yes....pictures please :D

Not the best of pics at the moment, ive lost some somehow LOL! As i said earlier its a 1 owner from new 72,000k car. Lived in an underground garage so in pretty good order. I have a picture of the owner beside the car. He removed his tuned "3.1" L series engine and put the original L20 back into the car with some goodies to boot!!! Its a GTX but runs a 4 speed box, the old guy was a bit of a "togei" nutter and preferred the 4 speed box when booting around the mountains.

Looks like a decent, solid base to start from! So is she in the UK yet, or still on the water?

Also I think those rear fenders have had a subtle mod done, very interesting.

Hey Kev

she seems solid enough, im prepared for the worse though LOL! I think the wheels that are currently on her are perhaps original KPGC10 4 door ones and the owner has pulled the rear arches to get them in.
My buyer met the owner and had a few hours chatting with him about the car.
Im in a dilema as the wether to cut the rear arches and go GTR style or simply leave it in its current form....................
Hast left Japan yet, long story LOL!

Original 2000GT-R wheels would be steels, so those are aftermarket Watanabes I'd say.

Well...I guess as it's no longer standard, you might as well go the whole hog :D

Nice find, some of that bodywork looks interesting ! It looks as though your skyline has similar moisture traps in the rear quarters as my Mazda. What are your plans for the car, full resto or a general cleanup and enjoy it ?

Ive always had a soft spot for these cars, I bet its a long anxious wait until its finally in your possession. Was this a private sale or through a broker ? Anyhow a big :tu: :tu:

Awesome! Stock body with flushed works style taillights is an interesting look.

Definitely needs a tough L28 back in, works arches, bumperless and headlight blanks!

It may have had only the one owner but he's added some interesting custom touches over the years! Congrats on your purchase.

Cheers Guys

The car came with a spare L28 engine, performance exhaust, spare carbs, front chin spoiler. Im just arranging to have these shipped over via a container.

I kinda like the idea that im getting the original L20 engine with the car too :-)

yea, he met his wife through this car so it holds a huge amount of sentimental value to him. My buyer assured him it was going to a great home and that the car would be looked after. Trust me though this was a very difficult purchase as we were hit with all kindsa issues for well over a month before the car was released LOL!

how old is this guy i wonder, he really knows what he is doing

my car was one owner too, the guy was doing everything right to the car, till he abandoned it in 1997. i guess he got sick of it and now that he cant drive considering his age, i took it over from him
