i recently bought a kujira crown rs60L-KB and since then i have been trying to find out something about how many were made, how many might be left, are there any clubs online specializing in this generation?

my car bears the frame number RS60-002233

i was wondering if my frame number is early into production or late.

my car is rust free but needs to get both frame and body painted as previous owner had sanded the body down.

here is a picture of the car taken aprox 4-5 years ago. lol i wish i would have gotten the car while it still had the paint.

and how it looks at the moment.

all panels on this car are straight and interior is in fantastic condition exept some minor stains on the carpet.

only thing that i don't like about the car is that the original owner had a volvo amazon engine and trans swapped into the car. the odo reads 74.500km or about 46.500 miles. the car has been kept in a garage for the last 20 years or close to that.

Toyota sometimes make car looks ahead of it's time. The signal lamp "strip" above the headlamp is like no other.

even tho the celica has pop up lights that go above the stripe, this celica here has kind of similar feeling to it.

That's gorgeous. As for the Volvo drivetrain, just get another Toyota M-series engine and w58 and you're in business :)

Welcome to JNC!

It's a RS60. :P

5R originally...though 18R-G would be a good replacement.

big update!!!

former owner told me that the car had a volvo engine so i didnt think so much more about it, but i did some checking on the engine and it turns out that the motor is a 18r toyota engine.

now i'm wondering what engines would bolt right up to my trans? bigger the better.

Yes, bolt in. You need to use the mounting brackets from the 18R. If the Crown is front sump, then the Hilux (RN50/55) pan & pickup will work. :tu:

I think your color is awesome. I wouldn't change it.

Look at this one from the Crown Picnic

the thing is that i want a color that will compliment the body lines even better and draw more attention to the hood line. the original color kinda hides the cool design.

At first glance that looks like the colour my MS55 is being done in. Different body, but it helped me get the idea how it will look like, complete with chrome wheel trims and whitebands.

i usually just use photoshop to find the colors i like and see how the cars look with different color schemes.

here is a really really rough example done in five minutes as you can see i did not even bother to exclude the handles from the color change.
