Well figure I would post my first Toyota. I own a few now but this is the first and decently rare. It's a 1985 Toyota 4X4 SR5 pickup. First year of the 22RE in the trucks and last year of the solid axle front suspension. Made famous by the awesomeness that is the Back to the Future Trilogy. So I built upon that image and did a BTTF theme to my wheeler. I even went as far as hiding the winch behind the bumper to maintain the look.

So here's a picture history of it.
Here's the earliest picture I have. I did a slight lift and tires by that time.

Original motor

Wheeling for the first time

Then I replaced more body panels
Image

Then I got tired of being a messed up 2 tone. Bed liner anyone?
Image

Then I got me a roll bar like the movie truck
Image

Add some cheap lights because this is a wheeler and they will get broke and presto. The theme is almost complete
Mine
Image
Real one
Image

Then I spun a rod bearing and toasted the crank coming back from PSTOF 3.
Image
Image

Yay rebuilt motor. I did the rebuild.
Image

Then off to test it.

Showing at PSTOF 4

Won best Old school 4x4

So engine specs are, Ported head, 268 Crawler cam, 5 angle valve grind with swirl polished valves, TRD header, MSD wires, Custom intake, LCEngineering cap and rotor, Crane Hi-6 ignition, and metal backed timing chain guides.

all you need now is those big ol' truck mirrors on the side and you're a pretty good copy :tu:

Contemplated them but as it's a theme not a reproduction I decided to keep the smaller, less likely to be ripped off by a tree mirrors.

I like this shot. Remind me of Landies advertisement few years back, but your truck is a lot better.

WOw, I barely remember when your truck was white Mike!

Nice montage of photos! I still think your truck is pretty dang cool.

Been tempted to paint the inside of those ones black to continue the theme :) Atleast this one is the correct year and trim level unlike the guy at TORC toyotafest that had an 87' IFS truck and not nearly the amount of correct items like mine and was boasting aout being the BTTF truck lol. Sorry it erked me a little :D
