sorry to thread jack.

I bought the blue mx32 and the owner fixed the exhaust. Car runs good for its age. I just need to replace the fuel line thats in the engine compartment as it has a small slit that lets fuel "squirt" out. Not too much but enough to bug me.

Ok back to OP's build thread.

I love this thread :) this is my inspiration. :tu:

No problem man. Jack away!

I wouldn't mind if this became a MX32 or people from WA state thread. It'd be fun!

BTW, Congrats man. What plans do you have in mind?

As to your post about the Chin spoiler, I can give you the guy's contact. Let me ask check tomorrow at my friend's shop for his info.

I think I still have some even older picture from the summer.

So are you gonna remove the door trim guard?

So here's an update:

My "trusty" bargain mechanic took my head apart and left for a month or so. I waited around in hopes for him to return. But it didn't happen. So I moved the car to my friend's shop and began the process of putting in back together.

It was quite a PITA since I am no mechanic and on top of the fact that I didn't take it apart. Just took the tubs of bolts/nuts and parts. Sucked since I had to trial and error when things might have gone.

This was what I was left with:

On the bright side, I did have the time to powdercoat the valve cover "black chrome". I have more pics and will post more when I get a chance.

So with some help here and there, I cleaned up and re-lubed everything.

I also helicoiled the block where the head bolts were stripped as well as replaced the timing chain, timing gears, and tensioner.

Does anyone have any ideas/pictures/websites of different air-ride trunk set ups for inspiration?

Damn. Just damn. I love how this car is coming along. I still remember the day leaving Pasco in it.

Oh, you could hit the guys at http://www.vipstylecars.com. There are a few fly trunk setups going on there.

I like what you did to your engine Alan.

Yeah like hirosada says, check out vipstylecars most of the members there are on air. :tu:

You gotta tell me how your engine runs after the freshened up parts.

Finished product of putting her back together. Just need to take her to get her pressure washed.

Repainted the filter cover:

I hate it that the air filter covers the valve cover. Do you guys think I should leave it stock or change it to a smaller air filter that wouldn't cover the valve cover?

Thanks Vince. Just started her up and drove in down the block. No burning oil! :tu:

But have to finish off the air bags, so haven't taken her for much of a spin yet. But I am sure there's much more compression!
