well here are the pics. Here are the pics of the 71 when i picked it up in Chicago will get more. And The ra40 the night i got it and drove it from milwaukee. Too bad winter took a toll on both cars. But Im ordering the rockers for both and make the floor pan for the 71. Luckily the 81 has a super solid under body. Well i guess ill make this as my little build thread for both cars. Perfect thing is both cars have great interior with def a 10 out of 10. Ill take some pics them.

I removed the motor off the 81 still have it if anybody wants it. Was running great. I could not find Fender flares for the ra40 so i decided to gamble with some ae86s which turned out well with some cutting. Its a bit shorter around the edges so im going to have to figure something out on that.

Yeah i know most people would of kept the 71. But it was too much for me and not enough funds to finish both. Plus a made a little extra money on it. Which is going back to the 81. Once im done with this one in the summer ill pick up another 1st gen.

I'm digging the 2-tone brown on the '81. I hope you keep the color :)

May I ask where you can get rocker panels? Do you have to make them from scratch or is there an aftermarket supplier?? Very interested as I have an 80 Grand Prix GT car. That needs a rocker panel where the side skirt attatches to the car.

I had to make them myself. If your good with your hands and shaping metal a bit, Rocker panels are pretty easy to make. But i believe toyhead or something like that makes rocker panle covers for 2nd gen celicas. But they are covers. says on the ad that can be modified to replace rockers. Dont know for sure though.
Waiting for it to get warmer outside so i can work on it some more.
Wisconsin weather sucks.

I know how you feel. I live near Milwaukee. I haven't been out to work on my cars in 3 months. Cool news that you're getting the celica back. Any plans for it?

If you need some rocker panels made, I know a guy down here who can make them cheap. Just send me an email with photos of the areas affected by rust.

sadly i wont be working on the car too much till im dont with my 2nd gen. Major thing ill be doing is body work. Pick at it a little. Might just fix most rust and prolly sell it to some one else and have most body work done for them. Dont know yet. Working on my 1983 civic and on my 2nd celica is a bit tough. luckly the civic is almost where i want it . Just gotta lower it get some thing re chromed and get a macco paint job ot it. or i might sell the 2nd gen celica and keep my 1st. :| ......
