I'm Japanese, and I can tell you that "Mango" did not come from Japan.
Ask any oldschool Japanese person what Mango means, and they'll say "huh?"

The TE27 is refered as the "Ninana (27) Levin/Trueno" in Japan.

haha yeah, im pretty sure "mango" didnt come from japan.
i think the term orginated in the philippines.....
thats just because when i was there, looking for corolla parts, all the old filipino guys were asking me if i had a mango

or possibly from puerto rico they love 2tc powered anything and would easily give fruit names as somewat similarly shaped cars nicknames.


there are A LOT of mango's in philipines tho . YUM YUM. i love me some dried mangos

Thats right it came from the philippines!!They called it that because of the shape.Look at a mango from its side. Manga (te-27)=mango,Mani(Ke-20)=peanut,Buto nang manga (Ke-35) seed of the mango.

Sorry folks, I've been AWOL for quite some time now. It's been a very rough year and a half for me. Oracles, I've had to put the project on hold since January 2009 and it will be on hiatus for a while. I need post some more pics of where I left off at on it. The main reason for the standstill was and still is job related. It's not going anywhere and I hope to get back on it soon.... maybe before Issue #4 ever gets released! :lol:
