hello, i'm new here figured i'd post up my current project.
picked this up earlier this summer and have been tinkering with it for a bit. previous owner did all the body stuff including the drop and purposely rusting the body...this is how it looked when i got it.

then i pulled out the old motor and starting thinking about what i should swap in.

after much debate i finally pulled the trigger

hmmm this might not fit..

as of now i have started it but it needs more work to be a road worthy car.

HA HA! I love it! It is kind of scary that someone would induce rust like this for the look, especially since it is the killer for these thin metal cars. Tell me you are going to keep it all dingy looking just to smoke people on the streets. You have to do it for at least a little while. Imagine the looks on people’s faces when a rusty little wagon smokes their sports car.

almost everyone i talk to says that i should leave it like that. Maybe i will for a bit but i'd really like to get some decent paint on it so it doesn't just dissolve.

just wipe the car down with oil/wd40 etc regularly. fix any substantial structural rust but keep the outside looking gnarly.

sleepers are so much fun. :tu:

The rusty paint would be cool to drive around for a week or so. I agree with getting it painted to prevent even more devastating rust.
