Hey guys,

In need of some help here as my Trueno TE61 is currently stranded...
The fuel pressure regulator that sits together with the fuel pump at the rear axle is pissing fuel all over the place.

It's for a 2T-GEU engine btw.
Do any of you know where I might be able to buy a new one?
I might even just buy the complete lump consisting of fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator and fuel filter if that's available anywhere. But of course it's really just the regulator that's an actual issue.

Any help would be much appreciated!
Either answer here or even send me an email on : andersbilidt (a) hotmail dot com

Thx!

Bit hard to tell from the photo, but it is probably just the copper sealing rings under the regulator banjo

Nah, it's sadly the actual pressure regulator that's fubar!
And since it's a sealed unit with a diaphragm in it, I don't see there's too much I can do about it.
Parrot, you and several others here on the forum no doubt have a lot more technical knowledge than I do, so please do correct me if I'm wrong about the above...
But I think I need to exchange the pressure regulator with a new one.

Any thoughts and/or ideas??

Don't forget you can go here, as Tojo noted, the earlier listing works.

http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/g_G_1977_T ... MQZGW.html

You can also reverse search if you know the part number

http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_G_1977_T ... ?hl=48210A

The various bushes are readily available in Australia made in urethane.

I don't have anything on a TE61 with 2TGEU, but if you look here for a TE71 it appears the same general layout. The mushroom shaped thing at the top is not a pressure regulator, it is a pulsation damper which is used to quieten the pump.

My experience with injected Toyota's is with my 4AGE bigport AE86. That doesn't use a pulsation damper at the tank as the pump is intank. The pulsation damper is actually at the fuel rail. I am extremely confident your 2TG fuel pressure regulator will be at the outlet end of the fuel rail.

If you look at the last diagram, you will see the gasket that sit between the inlet banjo and the pulsation damper (23232-26080). These are usually made of copper. Bit of a knock and they will leak. Especially under a car where there is any grit that may get in. I would also be getting the washer 90099-01496. Much cheaper than trying to replace the pump setup, which is probably unavailable anyway. Worse case scenario, you have done $10.

If it really is the pulsation damper and you can't get one, you will probably have to omit it and make up some custom hose.

better to upgrade to walbro fuel pump and add an aftermarket adjustable fuel pressure regulator

Cleaned the whole assembly up and cranked her up. Much to my dismay it's really pissing out now, and sadly it's from the actual fuel pump too! So I'm really looking at renewing the complete assembly on the pic above.
Seeing as the Trueno is so original and unmolested, I'd really prefer to stick with OEM parts if that is at all possible...??
It's a Bosch EFi system, so I've tried sending "Bosch Automotive Tradition" in Germany an email. It's a long shot, but maybe they have replacement fuel pumps??
Any other suggestions are naturally welcome...

Obviously if all else fails, I'll have to head down the road of Walbro pump or similar.
