So I posted over in the intro thread but thought that my details should probably be put here. I have a 1981 Starlet that I am planning on building for the 2013 Grassroots Motor Sports Challenge. This is a car building competition where you have a budget limited to the year of the race ($2013). I have a thread over on the grassroots motor sports forum with some back info and some of the ideas that have come and gone (see below), but the current plans and highlights are this:

Repair rusted out floor board
Fix massive hail damage (might cut out roof and replace with an aluminum panel, properly braced of course)
Remove rear axle and replace with the entire IRS unit out of a 1.6 Miata
Replace 4 cyl with 3.0 Yamaha built SHO (220 hp and 8K rpm) motor using a Mazda M5OD1 for RWD conversion

At least there's a car left to show for it! In Ohio the JNCs looked like this circa 1994. Nowadays you could fit an Ohio Starlet in a Ziploc freezer bag.
