I have read that 3tc water pumps can be fitted to 2tc engines, and that these pumps have a shorter impeller shaft. I have recently purchased an aluminum radiator from BRD Racing for my TE27, but I am having clearance issues from the extremely long impeller shaft on the water pump. I would like to just switch the pumps, but I do not have a later style pulley nor do I know where to find one. At nearly $100 for a new one from BRD, I would really like to save some cash and buy an old original pulley. Does anyone know where I can find one?

yeah a pump from a 77 has a shorter shaft. i ran into this issue when i pump my 74 2tc engine in my 77 corolla. i just switched out pumps and never had a problem.

Where did you get your pulley for the '77 pump? Did you already have one lying around?

I think it was 75/76 or 76/77 that had the water pump with the wide bolt pattern so the pulley may not fit. I have 3tc wp pulleys laying around somewhere.
