Hey guys I need everyone's opinion on what front end you're more partial to on the 86's, Levin or Trueno. This is for a persuasive speech I have to write in school.

I like the boxy 80's appeal of the Levin, but for me there is nothing cooler than pop-up headlights, so Trueno wins for me.

thanks for your reply. This is a hard speech for me to write because I'm not stuck on one or the other and I need to persuade.

Yeah, and I'd personally go for the Levin. To my eyes the design is just more harmonious.
Don't get me wrong... I'd happily own a clean Trueno AE86 too, but when comparing the two, I find the front of the Trueno just ends up being a little bit too low for it to properly gel with the rest of the boxy and purposeful design. So for me the Levin wins - though it would simply have to be the later version with those fog lights beautifully integrated into the grill... Has anyone - before or since - ever managed to integrate fog lights so effectively in the lines of the front...?? I think not. :tu:

levin if you can get it, the trueno stuff just doesn't appeal to me.

if you mess up the levin front, you're screwed into replacing it though.

i prefer levin on the coupes and trueno on hatches. it makes the proportions more aesthetically pleasing in my opinion.

I agree with this, I find it similar to the S13's with the coupe getting the silvia front end and the hatch getting the 180sx front end. I personally like pop ups better. Just something about the effect and feeling you get when you turn the head lights on and it's like your car is a transformer. Like If I was in a x-wing fighter and now I go into attack mode. Its quite silly when I write it down like this, but thats the feeling I get when I drive my car. Plus the sleek look of the car with the headlights down is much more sexy to me.
