This is parked at a local yard. I tried to buy the whole thing but they would not let me. I have the rack (for sale in wheels and things section).

If anyone needs anything let me know.

Yeah, it pisses me off. It will sit there maybe get a few parts picked off it and then one day they will send it to the crusher. :td:

Try to buy it again. Go back with cash in hand (how much is up to you) and a trailer to tow it out. Then say you won't leave till you have it. Its a jy, they love money. Fantastic find though. I would love to own one of those someday.

terolla,

It is a new wrecking yard and they don't currently have a dealers license so they can't sell complete cars as of yet. I will continue to hound them.

I wont charge any fee to anyone on this board.

Thanks
Rory

I think the thread has your savior.

Tell the yard guys you have a bevy of folks willing to grab parts from the car. BUT, you won't start pulling parts and paying cash unless you get in writing first refusal of the car before it's crushed.

Hey, just an idea.

Damn there's a toyota corona in a junk yard 15 minutes from me. It's sooo complete, dash, grill, engine, body is totally straight too. I haven't asked if they would even consider selling the whole car because A. I don't have the money right now, and B. I haven't checked out all the lost title crap with the dmv. Anyone have any experience getting something from a junker successfully?

I deal with a lot of different JY's from time to time. And I get some great parts but not entire cars
mainly because there too far rusty here in NY.

What state are you in?

Any car is worth at least price per ton for scrap,$230 now(10-2011) in NY.My MK II 2 door is 2700 lbs.

Pics. would be great we love'em :tu:

Could be a good chance to pull some parts and make some money at least?

I'd be up for a good dash :)

Whit--

how much for that roof rack shipped to 833 south main st. Star, NC 27356? I think it should fit on my 70 mkII wagon with little to no mod.

crap, accidentally wiped out my memory card, so no. I tried to find it again last time I was there and I didn't see it. The office said they crushed 500 cars last week so it might have been sacrificed to the JNC gods lol. If it has I'm pissed! it was seriously 100% complete. Straight body, nice black interior, good dash, nice grille, complete engine. damn. I'll check again real soon just to make sure it just didn't get moved to a different area.

Hey just a thought, If the car has missing parts from it, then technically it is not a "whole" car! :D

It's worth a try, especially when these old girls are so rare now - I've never seen one here in Australia!
