Hi Whit, i never seen a bellhousing for a M engine and a W50 but is not impossible to adapt, you know,

if the adapter not a problem for you i will choose the w50, but again the w58 for a N/A 7M is ok for whatever you want, and easier to install of the 2!

I'd go with the W58. Easier to find if you blow it up, and parts are readily available. The W50 is out of a MA47 Celica Supra, right?

If the W50 is in a supra, then it will have an M series bellhousing and should mount straight up to the 7M. I would use the W58 though, if it is good enough for Toyota to put behind it, then why change it. Depending what car the W58 is coming out of and what it is going into, you may need a different shifter tower.

If the W50 came out of a Mk I, it will be a direct bolt-in, but grab the bell housing too! The differences are gearing and only about 10 lbs of weight - the W50 is an all iron case, the W58 is aluminum.

W50
First Gear: 3.287:1
Second Gear: 2.043:1
Third Gear: 1.394:1
Fourth Gear: 1.00:1
Fifth Gear: 0.853:1
Reverse: -4.039:1

W58
First Gear: 3.285:1
Second Gear: 1.894:1
Third Gear: 1.275:1
Fourth Gear: 1.00:1
Fifth Gear: 0.783:1
Reverse: -3.768:1

It'd be IRS and rear disc brakes being an 85.
