Appreciate all the responses in regards to a later r engine swap. Here are pics of the brackets that i was trying to use but make the engine too wide.
I drilled a second hole in the face of the bracket with an attempt of "narrowing" the mounting width of the engine. All this did was in turn make the engine too tall and valve cover would hit the hood.
I would assume that with these "hilux" short brackets i would use the bottom mounting holes on the block?
The offset part of the bracket for the alternator and a/c compressor seem to be missing in the brackets posted above?
And is the mount on the right in hte picture below the one you guys are using with your 18r/18rg?
As far as 5 speed trannys go, which is preffered, w50, w55, or w56? i would imagine that i dont need to have the lower first gear ratio from the w56. w50/w55 seem the same as far as ratios go.
slowly making progress, more a battle of acquiring funds and parts.
