Visited the car today:

All of the Lead was removed from the roof connections and welded. Lead leaches through body filler and ruins the paint, so it had to go. The roof is going to be done early next week, the rest of the car will be worked on next week. The week after, probably some priming.

Saw this while I was there too:

Oh, and this mustang gives you an idea of the quality of paint job they do, :

It really depends on whether the rear sheetmetal has a "cutout" for the tips.

Sheetmetal? The muffler just hangs under this car :p

Image

I doubt I will use it, but I might use the muffler itself, although its quite large probably too big for under the car.

Small, little update... The exterior is primered, next up is the interior and painting and then color sanding/buffing :D

It looks ABSOLUTELY fantastic so far, especially how well the hood has been fixed (doesn't flex anymore, and ALL the dents are gone!) Everything is amazingly silky smooth, its going to look like a new car when its done!

Looks great Steve! :tu: Did you decide to keep it a solid color or are you going with stripes / 2 tone?

Solid color, possible decal stripes later or other decals later.

Photos from picking up the car today.

Sorry, nothing of it getting loaded/unloaded, I had my camera buried by a fender!

I'll get more photos of the fenders/valence/trunk etc. later probably next weekend, and push it outside for better lighting too.

Some test fitting done today, along with a few installed parts.

The fenders and grill and such are not installed permanently, however the trunk is done:

Hi I am a recent follower of your project. I own a 1971 Subaru FF-1 1300G Sports. My project is a restoration but I could give you some interior tips as mine is original.

Hi Adam, good to see someone else who has or had a 1300g sport, i got mine back in 89 and now it resides in Ipswich queensland been in storage for about 20yrs now. Somewhere i posted pics of that car and others but i no longer have those as the computer crashed once and lost them all, but maybe kosta has those pics somewhere on his file and repost them
Cheers Thierry
