well I have owned it for all most a year now, I been slowly working on it and getting it ready for my next project DD car.

1992 Subaru Loyale AWD Wagon 110,000kms all Original... 2400lbs.. Ver : Canada
this is when I first got it

its not in bad shape but the original owner never really took care of it body wise, so once I took the mud guards off there was holes starting on the panels.

so it was time to restore this nice clean wagon and make it into a super sport wagon.

I gutted it and did a massive washing in the summer

Image

sand blast powder coated will be done on allot of things

Image

the inside is nice and clean all original again

so after getting the inside to a respectable shape, it was time to do something about this body.

so I found some sweet RECARO LS-VF in blue cloth, decided to get them since they match the interior of my loyale very well.

also managed to find a nice set of ENKEI Rally Compe wheels from japan for the Leone cars, made in 89. not a bad size also 14x6 4x140 et38, ill make them my summer wheels after sandblasting & powder coat to refresh them back up.

so since I have lots of time waiting for my japanese seat bases to come in, I decided to strip the seats down wash the covers and i called up recaro usa for some new padding for the bottoms...

also these seats have some type of fire proof stuff on them the grey padding on all the foam.. once you peel it all off you get a better depth in bolsters comfort.. also got the lower seat fabric stitched up better common problem with these seats is the fabric splits and you have a hole..

suspension came in from KYB, new shocks should freshen the ride back up

Image

and since I'm sticking with my 4x140 bolt pattern and oem knuckles, got my brakes sand blasted and powder coated red, also go my brake lines made up in SS braided lines. new rotors and pads are on the way along with new seals so I can rebuild everything and add TURBO disc brakes on the rear..

funny thing is one front STi brembo calliper has the same amount of pistons as all four of my brake combined haha :D

well I just love recaro... new foam still can be ordered from recaro for these seats

Image

after installation of the fresh washed fabric ready to go in the wagon..

I think its a perfect match, these seats feel right at home in the wagon.

Image

JDM seat rails still made for these Leone models..
Juran racing from japan, best part is you buy the base and the sliders come with the base welded all up ready to go

Looks great! :tu:
Subtle yet with just a hint of attitude, and true to period too.
Well done...

thank you, ya the seats came out really well with matching the factory blue didn't have to upholster this time around

well the new year has lots of snow days in it which the Loyale slices through like a hot knife !.. two feet of snow BLIZZARD cant stop this little wagon.

Image

lots of parts came in and its all most time to do a proper brake & suspension job on this wagon

oem subaru bolts, brake rotors F&R, rear disc hubs, whiteline 20mm non turbo sway bar, brake pads, rebuild kits spares.

I was going to get slotted rotors but they messed up the order and I cant wait that long to swap this stuff.. the leone wagon needs some love after the snow has stop falling.

What a mess this week was !.. after losing a brake line to rust it was time to strip this wagon down and start phase 1 of the project.

who ever owned this car before me just didn't like to grease anything ! cv axles where rust/weld to the rear diff and hubs ! disaster

front axles where some knock off junk crap that had to be cut off !.. axle looked new and at 100kms the front would shake like I had all my rims and tires unbalanced !

Oem Subaru front brakes, rotors, bearings, seals, bolts. cv axles all re done with oem boots clamps and grease, also kyb shocks installed, whiteline 20mm sway bar.

Image

Oem Subaru rear disc turbo brakes conversion rebuilt with all new parts, bearings, bolts and XT6 rear arms with the 20mm sway bar and new kyb shocks.

Image

rear has all the bushings for that tight feeling like my white sedan with the xt6 moustache bar for the bigger bushings, braided brake lines all around.

Image

how does is drive so far... just amazing what new brakes bushings and shocks can do to a car feel.. 100km+ feels smooth as butter !... the motor is now the weak link and needs more power to over come the good handling with stopping power.

so since I wont be needing any of my hsd coil overs on my sedan I decided to use them all on the wagon.

so after thinking about it I came up with this ice cream cone cup idea... the front hub on the old subarus had a slide in shock like a ball joint and bolt holding it in...

got a machine shop to wip up a cup that slides in my stock hub and he made threads so
I can add coil overs in the top.. there is also a hole in the bottom so I can adjust the coil overs with a allen key...

the rear ill use spherical bearings and a new top hat I got coming.
