OK, so I had a better post, but my carelessness lost it!

So a few years back I bought a GSR sight unseen off the net for a pretty sharp price.

It was a lot shinier then, the paint is pretty poor. But, Its no biggie.

I worked on it slowly/slightly and got it roadworthy/legal + different wheels and strolled about for a while.

Used it off and on for a while, + new wheels again

Then I didn't use it for a while, it was a sad time.
Then I did + new wheels and stuff.

Still not right.

I gave myself a deadline to make it to http://www.oldschool.co.nz's yearly nationals a few months ago.
So a bit of work was carried out and it happened. Have travelled a good few thousand km around most of the north island since May and am driving it to work cause its so cheap to run!

Cheers, as far as I know, the GSR was the sportier edition of the 1400 GL Coupe.

Equipped with 1400cc pushrod EA63 boxer + twincarbs. Quoted ~93bhp @6800rpm
4 speed.
Front wheel drive.
4 Wheel independent suspension, Macpherson strut front and Torsion bar trailing arm rear.
Boosted discs front, drums rear.

There is probably a few finer details that set them apart, but nothing too major. These days the GSR's seem to be more common round here than the basic coupes/sedans. But with that said, they're not exactly easy to find. But with that said, they're not exactly very sought after also.

Mines been re-powered at some stage in its life with a slightly less exciting 1600cc EA71 from a later 1600 Series Leone. Unsure about its power, it has a single carb currently, but I'm working towards getting a set of factory twincarbs fitted which are suited to the 1600, and hopefully livening it up a bit more ;-)

Sweet little car, man! I've been looking for one of these on-off for many years, they have all but completely disappeared. Fond memories of a green GSR I used to try and drag in my hot Fiat 850 many moons ago...it used to belt me every time. The go like a scalded cat in original spec. Keep havin' fun! :tu:

I've seen a few of these around but never a lowered one. It looks really sharp with a bit of a drop!

Thanks for the pics! I need motivation like this to get my GL done. Nice selection of wheels too!
