Ok that is still good, but I'm haveing a problem knowing what set of pins to look at since I can't see the all connectors on the ecu so I can match it with the pinouts you posted.

if i got things right thats the connector for the high current drawing plug (more voltage) but i have a problem with the pinout pic i cant tell if its the pic of the connectors (female/wire side) or the ecu's connectors (male/ecu)... but if im looking at it right and its from the female/plug the pins are #'s 114/115/111 ant the chart says they are 114/bat 12v+ (115/12v+ but for rb30) and 111 n/c.... so from my point of view you might have a to much resistance on the 12v+ lead (114) witch is causing the thing to over heat cuz its being under powered... so what i would to is make sure you are getting a full 12 volts at those pins, in other words no resistance at all from 12v bat to the pin.. i hope my info helps you out.

In that pic, the left side top 2 (the ones being pointed to) are earth.
Directly underneath those 2 is another earth, and next to that is the fuel pump (copper coloured).

ok miss understood the plug pic.. so what your telling me is that the pinout are from the ecu as if im looking straight at it... ok but ether way i would suggest a high resistance problem from the plug side... its hard to say.. the transistors 3 legs go to thous 3 pins?

PM me.

Where abouts are you?
I have a whole NICS engine and computer you can have cheap.
Looks like I have 3 NICS crank angle sensors including the one on the engine.

I may have found the actual problem....again  :)
All facts pointing to a dud coil driver.
ECU has been fixed, I just have to go and pick it up.
I'll keep you posted

skyline is looking good and nice. i loved this car when i was studying down under in melbourne. cept i had to buy a newer car for regular driving. got the 1998 lancer glxi for better fuel consumption back then. nrma rates it to be 2nd most fuel efficient sedan behind the 2003 toyota corolla. then i swapped my car to a 1996 integra dc2 vti-r. never owned a nissan before, but might consider owning one in the near future. thats a lot of precision and hard work u have on ur car. now im just building up my honda up to spec again

I have all the bits to fix this now but life is proving a little chaotic at the moment.
One of our British Bulldogs has had pups.
We were expecting 3, maybe 4, and got 8!
Thing is, they have to be fed every 2 hours so life is a bit upside down.
I'll get back to the car thing asap.
In the meantime, anyone want pics?

Got a bit of time to work on the car so I put in the newly repaired ecu,
swapped out the possibly dodgy coil driver, hit the key and.........

The tow truck delivered it to the auto electricians about an hour ago.
This is the first time in about 30 years that a car has beaten me.
Thinking seriously about carsales.com.
Buy a car with only 6 wires......
Spotted a nice old Mitsubishi GTO 1600 for sale :tu: .........

I may have been barking up the wrong tree.
The sparky is flagging fuel pump problems.
Apparently it cuts out randomly.
Could be one of about 5 things he says, including the ecu

Still, that '71 GTO looks really good.......
Thing about it is though, I'll get the car back, drive it, and all will be forgiven :)

Yeah, it's a bit off topic but I see this thread as more of a lifestyle thing.
