I have the front hood trim but all the "bolts" behind it are broken off and some of the chrome is flaking off.... Not sure if I want to try to hot-glue job it or just get another one if I can find it....

Mine doesn't have power mirrors... there is a template on the dash where I assume the power mirror controls would be. Also there is no place for a passenger side mirror. I had a few older cars like that, that didn't come with a passenger side mirror. They came like that straight form the factory....

That's the way my Z is. No power mirrors and only the drivers side from the factory.

Well, those are factory mirrors on my 810. I didn't put them on and I know the old lady I bought it from(original owner) didn't.

Nice car! I love these, there's a few rolling around my town, driven by hippies who dont care about them. Put their sopping wet with sea water surf boards and shit in the back. Obviously not caring about how easily datsun floorboards get cancer :(. Nice build! Drop it!!

Not to be a dick, but you're 320 isn't a ute. Ute's are any unibody truck, and only nl320 with unibody are concidered ute's. Think el-camino.

zetozeto99, how's you dash pad? I notice that you have burgundy interior. Norm at OEM Surplus had one burgundy dash pad left. In fact he has one 810 dash pad left period. I bought my brown one from him about five years ago. Check it out if you need one because you'll never find another 'new' one. Scroll down to just past the middle of the page. A lot of things are sold out but there might even be some other things you could use. It's all OEM sutff and you can't beat the prices. http://www.oem-surplus.com/nwp/810.htm

Mine's in pretty good condition for the most part. Some very small cracks starting here and there..... I should really pick that one up though! Thanks for the link. I think I browsed through his parts before looking for a rear wiper motor. I thought my rear wiper was out. Seems it was just "stuck"...

A lot of the 810 stuff that shows as 'sold out' was probably bought by me and Steve Golik. I've purchased air flow meters, air conditioning evaporators and compressors, a dash pad, assorted moldings and trim, an ECU, etc. from him.

You, Steve G., and I are the only people I am aware of that are actively driving and maintaining working 810s in the US. I'm sure there are more but the three cars are all I know of. There are a couple of guys on HybridZ (2 2 dr. hardtops) and Classic Z Cars (a 77 or 78 wagon) that have them but they are non running projects.

Haha.. yeah. I think you're right. I found one guy on ratsun.net who owns an early 810 wagon but that isn't running either... I seen an early style sedan about a month ago in the parking lot of Best Buy. I'd love to get my hands on one of those or an early coupe.

So, along with lowering the wagon I have been scheming on an exhaust plan! Eventually I would like to get my hands on a nice L6 header and modify it to fit if necessary.... and have a custom header-back exhaust fab'd up. Of course I have this thorn in my side called CA SMOG-Check to deal with! So that is something to think about....

In the meantime I want to have a "cat-back" system fab'd up... now my main concern is the muffler style... I don't want anything too modern like a huge fart can. Shoot me some visual ideas!

As long as your header still utilizes the EGR system and your exhaust system has a catylitic converter, the smog check people really can't say anything. I don't have any visual images to post. My 810 has a oval stainless steel turbo muffler with a single 3" tip. Nothing special, it sounds good, not too loud, not too quiet either.

It just so happens I have an image saved on photobucket of your 810:

:tu:

Looks good!

Yeah I want something a lil sporty sounding too. Kinda like the double tip look... let's see if I can find some good examples. I see some nice dual tip exhaust on some JDM cars but not sure where they get them...

Not sure what they came off of and I bought them knowing that. They are pretty similar in appearance to stock JDM 810 fender mirrors... but the plastic molded bases are contoured for a different fender obviously. I could probably just ditch the bases and install the mirrors that way... but I would like be able to use the spring system in case some moron bumps into them. I think if some one had the know how they could probably fab up a flush base so I can still use the spring system.... I don' have that know-how, however, and would be scared shit-less to hack up my fenders.

Can any of you guys refer me to a body shop (or someone) in So.Cal who can help me out?
