Theres a Datsun Super Six for sale on ebay-au.

Tidy looking car, would be a great restoration project.

The seller says it has a 2.4 liter engine, but I think they originally had a 2.3 liter.

In this bodystyle the '69 130s/Cedrics had the old style L23 for the 2300 SuperSix, for the '70 model year Nissan brought out the revised L series as the L24 in the 2400 SuperSix. The 130s actually were the first to get the L24 thus all part numbers are E3000 numbers which are '70 130 numbers.
The old L20 and L23 can be recognised by the domed nuts on top of the cam cover and a seperate casting bolted to the head for the timing chain. The later L20 and L24-26-28 had small bolds down the side of the cam cover and the timing chain housing casted in one with the head.

Here in New Zealand we also had them badged as either 2300 Personal Six or 2400 Personal Six, as well as the Super Six in both motor sizes. I think the Personal Six had the lower grade trim level compared to the Super Six.

I remember looking at a rough 2400 Super Six years ago, which still had the the self seeking radio, electric aerial and the radio controls on the back of the back seat. Was a steering coloumn change auto, with a bench seat in the front. Although it was rough it was complete. Should have bought it :(

Yep thats the type of Cedric it was in the long gone ebay link.

Does he plan on restoring them, or are they garden ornaments?

Love the JDM garden hose reel :)

Sweet rides man. The bronze one must get up and boogy with that engine/turbo combination. I'm assuming there's a fairly large intercooler out front too by your plumbing!

I love 130 ceddys! And it seems like everyone who has one, has eleventy billion of them...
Definitely on my to-do list one day. I think I'd have an L28 with triple sidedraughts, dark tints, tidy original trim and low rideheight on sensibly sized Japanese wheels.

Somewhere between these two I think; stance and style of the first one, motorvation of the second one.

Actually, even unrestored body and slammed over some trick wheels would be cool, like some of the Crowns in Japan....Perhaps even those crown customs halibrand-esque rims.

Hi guys,
Some nice cars in this thread, I've recently bought a bronze/gold g130 the same as the ones pictured.
Luckily mine is very nearly complete, only missing the original radio and the fender mounted mirrors have broken/rusted the thread that holds the mirror to the stalk and will need fixing or replacing.
I've got some nice bits like five original 14" hub caps and steel wheels (soon to be wearing whitewall tyres) and original jack and tools, owners manual and service book. I'm very keen to get her back on the road.
What's slowing me down is the brakes, I've spent a couple of days pulling apart callipers and drums, bleeding lines etc and have decided to bite the bullet and take it to a professional. Have any other owners had to do much to these car's brakes, mine has a couple of extra parts mounted near the master cylinder and I'm unsure of their exact purpose, which adds to the confusion.
Sorry no pics at this stage but I'll try to get some on here.

Hi,
That's right they're twin piston with solid rotor front brakes, but they're not 240z brakes because I have compared them with the ones on my 240z.
The mounting bolts are also spaced differently to the 240z so no easy swap either. Each piston it in it's own little aluminium housing which bolts to either side of the calliper body. They are identical on either side and are joined not thru the claiper but by a steel brake line. I hadn't seen them done like this before. And the rears are drums.
I've conceded defeat and taken it to a brake specialist this morning because the front brakes are sticking on and the car will drive but does not roll very far. I have a 28 day permit to drive it unregistered and have a number of items that need doing so to keep the ball rolling I took it to someone who knows what they are doing.
Once I've got my fender mirrors back on the the whitewalls I'll take some photos and post them up. I think they're a great old thing and quite unique around here. (australia)
It will also be the perfect excuse for me to start building my triple solex L28 which will eventually go into my 240z which unfortunately is a longer term project.

Sounds like a Volvo 2-piston caliper? I know people used to put these on 1600s back in the day, perhaps someone did the same here?

The front brakes on my 2400 Super Six are the Dunlop type, same as on the SP/SR311 Roadsters I believe (calipers that is, disks will probably be different as roadsters have 4 studs for the wheels), they have 2 seperate piston units held by 4 bolts to a carrier and a brake line going from one piston unit to the other.
I have been told this is the same style as used on 60s Jaguars so maybe thats where seals could also be sourced.

Good luck
Iwan
