I've only experienced speed cameras in Arizona, two tickets in two miles

In the middle of the desert. I didn't even have fun doing it, I was in a Blazer

I've heard that they've lately found those tickets too expensive/difficult to enforce, and thus removed the film from the cams.
I just moved from the IE to OC, and am happy not to have to deal with the stupid things people do because of the red light cams... Guess the city I live in has banned them, from the above link.
I've always figured that if you didn't notice the red light, you won't notice the camera, so there's a likelihood of someone getting creamed anyway. If you do notice the camera and still run the red, that probably means you looked first, and are just going to saunter on through without smashing into anything. Running red lights can be tragic, but a camera won't save lives; hire more cops if you want safety.
