200sx engine fire

I may be getting a 200sx next week that ha an engine fire. It has the ca18. It's turbo. I was wondering how hard it would be to find a new wiring harness

When my RX7 caught fire, it took approximately one month to find a harness. This was for the most common model of the most common year of one of the most beloved Japanese sports cars of all time.*

Since your car is rarer to begin with, and a rare model to boot, you'll have to be very patient. There likely aren't specialty shops for your particular model either, further hindering your progress. Use that time to get the car sorted out in other areas.

*Please don't take this as a slam on your car - reading my old posts will reveal that seeing a black 200SX is what made me a JNCer to begin with. I didn't even know they made a turbo version!

I reckon the easiest way would be to find one through an importer in a rhd country because we've had thousands of CA18 S13 Silvias and 180SX's imported, so they could either source one from a damaged car or they may have one on the shelf as a spare, then have it posted over to you. I imagine that might be quicker and maybe easier than trying to find one in the US as i don't imagine they'd be very common at all over there

There happens to be a turbo 200sx at the jy up the street from where I work. I can check if the engine harness is there and in good condition.

Ok ya it will sit I have yet to get it. I could always put my spare vg30et engine in it. I'll find out next week if I get it or not. If u could get a price if it is a turbo don't think it would mater. I'm sure a 180 or what not would be much the same. Im up in Canada and there are tones of rhd cars here and bad drivers

Price depends on how long the harness is. They charge $6 a foot and I have no idea how they measure it. If it's from tip to tip it shouldn't be too much. If they measure where the connecters split off from the main harness then it could get ugly. I'll keep an eye out on this thread. Might go get the seats from it just because they are awesome and snap some pics.

do a google search theres a company that has oem nissan harnesses

i bought a body harness for my s12 a while back.... it was only about a hundred dollars

brand new harness= no headaches

200sx engine fire
