I finally found a car I really want to keep...in the form of my 50th AE Z31.
Some info on the 50th AE:
5,464 Special edition Anniversary Edition Z31s were built as 1984 Models, which featured a Two-tone paint job, flared fenders, side skirts, mirrored t-tops, bodysonic bass-in-seat stereo system, an AE badge on the driver's side fender.
The car also came with a golden key and a 50th AE cover, neither of which I have.
It originally had a VG30ET making 200 HP @ 5200 rpm and 227 ft. lbs of torque @ 3600 rpm, but the previous owner removed the badly mangled motor and replaced it with a higher compression NA VG30E with the turbo goodies bolted on.
Proper pics:
It currently has spray painted front fenders and bumper cover until I can find decent original AE replacements.
The car is leaky, which is what I'm working on this winter...trying to keep the fluids where they belong. It leaks gas, oil, coolant, brake fluid and has a boost leak and intake leak.
Once I get this all wrapped up, I am going to install a boost gauge and turn the boost up to 10 psi, which is about the most a stock clutch can take.
It's currently set at 8 psi, which is only 1.3 psi more than stock but runs pretty well and pulls pretty hard.
All-in-all, it's a fixer-upper, but a piece of Nissan history and I adore it.
