My 1985 C32 Nissan Laurel 2.4GL

For the fun of it, some new pics of my 1985 C32 New Zealand spec Laurel 2.4GL 5speed, which has now done 450,000km (approx 281,000miles) Ive had it for about 2yrs now.

Had just polished it, and thought a photo opportunity was too good to waste...lol.

A new rear hub cap would make it even nicer though...

Its completely original, although it does have the usual stone chips etc on the front whcih dont show in the pic clearly. Im pretty much the 4th owner, and the 2nd owners had it for 19years and 400,000km. I dont think it has ever been to a panel shop. There is no paint overspray or masking lines anywhere around door shuts etc or around chrome mouldings, stripes or body fittings. Its even still running the original L24 carb engine, which has been reconditioned in the past.

Sadly I have tried to find a 4th hubcap, but they seem to be as rare as rockinghorse poo. When I got it, there were none on it at all.

No one would guess what's the mileage of the car by looking at the pictures :tu:

These are truly solid cars. I wish you many trouble-free miles with it!
Mine just past the 250.000 kms and the engine is still excellent.

But I can see that your speedo only has 200 on it, on European 2.4E models it has 240...

Most people usually guess that its only done around 150,000km.

Yours is a 2.8 diesel isnt it?

The second hand JDM import Laurels we got here only read 180km/h on the speedo. Not sure of the reason that there was a difference.

Yes, mine is the LD28 diesel.
As far as I know, the Japan there was (is) a speed limitation, that's why the speedo reads only 180. I've seen this on some Skylines as well.

Also, I see that the gauges are in different places. Here's my dash:

Seems to be all the JDM imports we get here, whatever brand, have the 180km/h speedo. If it was sold new in New Zealand, usually they were 200+ km/h

I think the difference in guage placement is to do with left hand drive and right hand drive. Mine is RHD, and im pretty sure the guages are a mirror image. I know the switchs have different positions between LHD and RHD.
