Buy the nicest one you can afford and worry about what year it is later. It's easier to find an early front end to swap on than it is to find a clean early car.

how easy is it? what about parts? i only see engine stuff out there mostly.

lets put it this way the early parts were only used for ONE YEAR the late model stuff was used for three finding early sheet metal is a pain in the ass though there is a company that supposedly makes fiberglass fenders

http://www.showcars-bodyparts.com/datsun.html

still early sheet metal is hard to come by i got lucky and my replacement car was a genuine 73 and come with the early stuff even though its a little rough

 Wahhhhh!!!

I was at JCCS and overheard someone mention "all the 610s" but I couldn't find them!!! Damn!!!!

Style-wise, I like the 610 better than the 510 but like someone said, they were heavier (and slower) than the 510. Also, I think Nissan built their reputation racing the 510s and the 610s didn't really do that well on the track.

I don't bring my 810 Goon to JCCS this year and all these 610 guys think they can get in on my turf?? Pffft!

Very nice 610 Goons at JCCS this year.... Glad to see my older lil brothers coming out in force! I'll show you guys how it's done next year!

All 610s are god, especially this (BEST grille, L20A):

thats not a grill thats a whole different model of car all together its not a 610 but everything sheet metal wise from the windshield back is 610[/quote]

It's still a 610. Extended nose to fit the 6cylinder L20A or not. Just as in the same way a C110 be it with a short nose and G16, G18, L16, L18 or long nose and L20, L24 or S20 is still a C110.

That's because that's all that's really out there that's "easy" to get.

The rest you'll have to dig for. trim pieces are not easy to get.

Two rules:

1. If you want easy, buy a mid-90s Honda.

2. Don't purposely buy a rare and unpopular car and then be surprised that parts are thin on the ground.

While we're on the subject of blacksheep cars (looking really good, I might add), where there ever any b210's at JCCS in the past??? Sorry if this is a bit off-topic.

...And yes, those shakotan 610's where pretty sick at JCCS. I took plenty of pics of them.

I don't remember seeing any this year, and I'm not sure about in the past since this year was my first. I also don't know why I never went to the past ones!!! *slaps own face*

Quick question about tail lights... are the all red ones newer? older? or are the red with orange newer? older? I just noticed that the two wagons from the show had two different style tail lights, and the one in the new blog posting has the same as the SR wagon.

those must have been fun to find...

is it easier to find JDM parts or "rest of world" parts? Or are these cars just as rare or rarer in other countries? You'd think japan would have more of them since they were made there right???

reading around the blogs and websites, seem like no one builds these wagons... mostly just the 510 wagons. I am guessing its because of the fact that 510's are more popular and more abundant. I also didn't know that the White wagon has gotten quite a good amount of publicity!

all this & not a mention of the 710?

Image

...& due to DOT & general poor design, all the late model USDM bumpers were horrible massive monstrosities....(610 included)

The overseas market "violet" got slightly different sheet metal to accommodate their front chrome "smileys"..710 doesn't look bad without a bumper..

Image

our alternative to sourcing JDM bumpers? One-off custom composite pieces: (still in development stage)

Image

...oh, and sorry for the highjack...(this is a 610 FTW thread, after all)...but after reading all the posts, I felt that interjecting the 710 was quite relevant!

This wagon is really neat. I have never seen one of those windshield visors before. I really love the Flairs on the rear!
