That Colt was my first Japanese car and also made me a big fan. I put over 200 000 HARD km on it and the last week I had it drove it with no clutch (I suspect the throwout died) and eventually the transaxle case cracked......(City traffic)

I have some of my old '78 Civic somewhere too but would have to find and scan them....

We were talking about the turbo versions on another forum recently, we got a few (but not many) here. I did some scans...

I don't know if we ever got the Turbo in Canada either. Mine was the small engine/4spd. Fun car though. I used to run the snowmobile trails with it. LOL.

Spottedlaurel, your scanner must be working overtime! If it ever breaks down I (and others, I'm sure) would pitch in to get you a new one! I can't think of a worthier cause

To be honest, I didn't realise they'd made a Turbo version. It's a new one on me. Great pics SL, I like the first one in dealer livery especially.

They sold it here in America, so I'm betting they sold it up there too.

It's rare that we got something you didn't. You always got the cool stuff that WE didn't.

Here is my brother-in-laws.
Australian 1980 Mitsu Colt Bored and Balanced 4G12, King Springs, Koni Shocks.
Stephen and I stripped this back to bare metal and resprayed in Jag metallic blue. It's got a customised rear bar (the number plate cut out), rims from a Toyota Liteace (don't know what they're called in the US), with the centres machined out. This had the power economy shift (or eight speed if you like), that's 2 diff ratios, it's like overdrive in every gear if you choose. They should have done this in more cars, but I don't think people understood how to use it, so they went back to a standard 5 speed in the later models. Australia never got the 2 door.

I started wanting one of tohse turbo mirage back when i saw a 87 or 88 turbo mirage in the junkyard. I'll definately pick one up. I have the turbo guts of one sitting in my garage waiting for a future turbo 4g32.
