I don't know if I ever posted any pictures of my 1988 cordia turbo.

Anyhow, I have lately been trying to get it running 100% and back on the road for a new daily while I fight the dmv for licensing my box types.

I traded a old kt100 margay race kart for this about 5 years ago. Ran, but would buck hard under load and eventually be almost undriveable.

Pulled the valve cover off one day and found 2 off the shelf home depot bolts on the head. Pulled the head and had it checked out for warp, replaced with 63 dohc head bolts and started trouble shooting, I also had to replace the turbo manifold among other things. It sat forever, and now im finally back i the game with this thing. Currently throwing no codes but she will pull nice n hard for first and second, but by third it starts bucking. I'm at a loss after replacing every single fuel part and sensor on the car including engine harness. The only thing I havent done is run open downpipe with the gutted pre cat. It's possiblke the secondary cat is very clogged and causing my issues....

Anyhow, here is a quick pick of it while I was test fitting some watanabe rs8 on it

Very nice!!! Love these cars.

Could the bucking issue be sensor or ECU related? I know Celica Alltracs only boosted the system to lower PSI in first and second gear and then allowed more boost in the other gears. That just makes me thing maybe a sensor or something when you get out of lower gears, if the mitsu has anything like that.

Also, maybe get a wideband and see if it is leaning out when it bucks.

Does the boost appear to be fine in all the gears, minus the bucking? What PSI is it getting to?

Also, maybe get a MBC and turn down the boost and see if it behaves.

Its one of those problems I have chased for years. Pulls fine then starts Buckinghamshire g after a lil driving. I'm going to put a wideband on it soon and also run an open downpipe to eliminate the only thing I haven't done which is a clogged cat. I've literally changed everything else including wiring harness Lol. The car throws no codes so who knows...
