Recently picked this up, lowered it a bit more and fixed a few things. Going to do daily driver duty now, going to be looking for Mitsu Lancer badges for it soon. Might do a low boost turbo setup (no cutting, it's too clean to do that to it) this winter for a project. It came with a maint. log book since it had 587 miles on it- I'm actually going to be only the second registered owner! The engineer that owned it changed the oil every 3k miles OR 3 months... there's some times where it only had 800 miles on it but since it had been 3 months he changed the oil. :D

Gaargh! New forum and I forgot to put my loc in. Done now. Canby, Oregon.

I'll have to read up on bumper mods- the bumpers are one of the few things I don't care for that much on this car. It's the newest "old" car I have had and big USDM bumpers have always turned me off from the 70's......

Thanks- motor just gave up though. Swapping in a Swift GT DOHC / Samurai trans setup with a TD05H now to get it back to daily duty.

Sorry to read about the engine failure. What gave up the ghost?

I will have my '78 in a little under three weeks. Same Red & White Special you have. I will likely remove the side stripes the same as you have done.

Oregon cruise will have to be postponed! We just flooded out pretty bad, had 4' in the shop and 7' in the house. I got the colt out, but a lot of other stuff went under. My 60 ghia, 57 oval rag beetle, The Swift GT engine and turbo I JUST WENT THROUGH for the colt, Tig welder, etc. Cleaning up now, and then I have to go through and clean out the innards of the new motor.

The old engine lost oil pressure, and smokes bad now. Irregular idle too- ran good enough to drive it out of danger though.

For an idea, my swift GT in the pic is up on jackstands (I thought that would get it out of the water, that was retarded) and the truck in the pic is lifted and on 33's. The shop is the highest point of our property.

We should be done cleaning / sorting this weekend. Just got the flood ins advance check, so that helps get the ball moving. Probably one more dump run left, then it can start to get back to normal!

Well there ya go, that helps a little I guess. That's one of the cleanest colts I've ever seen, I'm glad you got it out in time
