There's some fantastic looking 323s you have there, and the colour you have done the engine bay is truly gonna set it out from the crowd.
Its gonna be a bewdy when its finished.
Was wondering how the dvd for the old skool rotor cruise from the 90s from Padstow to the Colo was going dude...eagerly still waiting :D

heres the engine bits, and got the car rolling today....

and got some so called "new" head light surounds and blinkers for it last week off trade me in new zealand.

when they turned up,they were taiwanese junk. very poorly made, and some of the lense colour runs into the clear part :?

once i put my genuine lenses on them, and redo all the silver and the gun metal grey they should look ok.....

could have just done that to my old ones...

hey dave, you could just mask the lenses and spray black edging to hide the dodgy taiwanese painting job. just an idea

few updates.

geting the motor and box ready to put together and put in soon, and aquired a rusty doner car, with good 5 speed box and tacho dash for my car...

Image
Image

honed out the block, painted it up....

Image
Image
Image

the under body of the car looks crap and filthy, so it had to be all redone.

Image
Image

striping down ,removing all the filthy parts to be redone, and every nut bolt and bracket to get re zinc coated.

Image
Image

bits to get re zinc coated....

Image

suspension links...

Image

Under body cleaned and redone with underbody stone gaurd sealer...

Image

suspension links painted up, and brake lines and fittings polished up and cleared so they dont dull off....

Image

Underbody fittings back from zinc coating....

Image
Image

bolting some bits up...

Image

painting diff and fuel tank....

Image
Image
Image

just got to paint up backing plates for the diff, and go get the new shocks and reset springs before it all goes back in. also fitted elctric fuel pump, and got all the fuel and brake lines bolted back in.

also tried a couple of sets of wheels on it...

the b54s look the best i think.

Image

And detailed the tacho dash from the doner car from blue to black and test fitted it all...

Image

Bit of fun with the doner car

Enjoying this, it's very inspiring. Like the tacho dash, never seen one of those in this country but presumably they exist somewhere. Would love one for my wagon.

Forgive me for posting up a wanted request within your project thread, presuming the donor car is doomed anyway, would you be up for selling the square headlights, headlight holders and grille off it for my wagon project? Would be very appreciative of it!!

last few weeks, got the new foam padding put on the fuel tank, and the straps that hold it in, and bolted it all back in,with all the redone bolts clamps and clips... and also mounted the electric fuel pump.

also painted the axle backing plates and centre, and put most of the diff back together..ill get the new shocks, wheel cylinders and brake shoes soon, assemble the rest of it, then put the diff back in.

Brake lines re fitted here on houseing...

great effort man. Good too see someone NOT putting a rotor in a hatchy.

also I know a couple of those hatches on the previous page very well. Some nice cars there but also some overdone ones as well. Yours will be damn near perfect.

Haha, I suppose it will be alright. As long as you dont put 17/18" MaD cHrOmEeZ on it which seems to be the trend in NZ

ah man, i cant stand those rubish 13 inch modgies they use in nz, and hotwires...

so ugly, and those hotwires are just 20 dollar wheels that people stoped useing in the early 80s.......
i would never spoil a 323 with those shit rims.
