Hey! fellow JNC'ers.

Here are some pics of my latest find. A 79 SE-Limited (No motor or gearbox) Sunroofed SA's are a rare find in NZ so I grabbed this car when I saw it advertised. No accident damage or major rust but missing more parts than I expected. Leather interior power everything etc. Plans are for a 12A NA with a bridgeport and use for a daily driver.

I bought this car without seeing it first. This is my first sighting when it arrived so had a few surprises.

Too many Mazda's in the collection. 4 Mitsubishi's, 6 Toyota's and now 3 Datsun's as well.
Putting together a Mazda/Japanese motor museum. New bigger venue for the museum has been bought, watch this space!

It is just the opposite here in the US of A. It is hard to find an SA without the sunroof. My 78 GS is a rare bird with no sunroof,or A/C.

Here is an update.

Im still trying to learn more about the SE-Limited. Questions posted on various Rotary forums have only had unintelligent replies.

Because Japan was the ONLY country to have this rare model I can only find a few english speakers who knows anything about them. Apparently they were Mazda's Flagship RX7 and are the ONLY fully optioned pre-80 RX-7 produced. I recently bought some SE-Limited RX7 brochures from Japann so I can learn some more once I get them translated.








I did at least get the headlights assembled AND installed from a jigsaw puzzle of parts.








Installed rear seat and dashboard.




And fitted the mirrors to both cars.





I removed the FB front and rear bumpers that the original owner fitted. I also bought a dark brown rear wiper/motor cover to replace the black one that the original owner had fitted. I still need a front bumper, valance and grill etc to complete the front.

i seen this rx7 on trade me sooo wanted to buy it. but unfortunately i couldn't get the founds together. good to see it went to a good home

Cheers Guys! I almost missed out on it too.
I emailed the seller numerous times but he did not reply.
When I eventually called him he advised me I was too late as he had already sold it.
It took some sweet talking and of course some more cash to convince him to sell it to me so I ended up paying more than the advertised price.
But when it arrived I soon realised this was NO normal limited model.
