After many years of scouring the planet, i finally found a rust free 81 Mazda 626 luxury coupe with no rust for sale for $400. Took me 18 hours of driving this weekend to go get it, but it is that clean its worth it! Needs an engine, but the outside and inside are in great shape, even has the original radio, 83,000 miles and its a STICK, WHOO HOO! LOL

Sunroof, original alloys, everything is as sold in 1981...

Needs a few small things here and there, now i have to find someone parting one out i guess, anybody on here got parts for one?

Oh, did i mention WHOO HOO! hehe

man sweet looking coupe, got one as well. We missed out on the cool mags and sunroofs until later on in the 626 range.

I love it. And the color is the best part! Gotta love those '80s era wheels.

Thanks guys for all the great comments on the car. I just bought a wrecked 84 RX7 with a rebuilt Mazda engine in it with 6,000 miles on the rebuild which will be the future drivetrain in the car come springtime. I look forward to making some progress asap. Just bought some NOS mudflaps with the MAZDA logo on them that should look very nice when its back on the road in a few months. I hope my 83 Civic 1500S doesnt get jealous that theres another Jap in the family now...LOL!
Ill keep this updated as i go along...

Congratulations, on your find. They are a really sweet looking car.
Drive nice and are comfy to boot. :D

Beware the window regulators. Make sure you lubricate the tracks and the winding mechanism. Otherwise you will be very sad trying to track replacement ones down after you have broken one!

Now that i'm looking closely, compared to the Australian delivered S1 and S2 626s, It's really interesting to see how the front of this coupe is a "hybrid" assembly - S2 nose cone and bumper, with S2 headlight surrounds and S1 headlights

My S1 and S2 hardtops - I bought both of them from Queensland and had them shipped to Victoria! :D

Hey tr6lover, any chance of some pics of your top radiator support panel and from directly in front of your coupe?

Thanks mate.

Didn't all american cars and cars imported there in the 80ties have those sealed beam headlights? Check out an "american" 323 (GLC) too.
