It is my father's 1967 Mazda Luce 1500 Estate. It was in my care since 1994.

Excellent!!! Keep it unmolested. Ok,...forgiven for the SS streering wheel.
Just a question:
The headlight surrounds are stock original?

wow, lovely 1500 estate.

What lays under the bonnet? Certainly not a factory floor column auto shift there?

Loving that A/C unit under the dash.

My 1967 1500's have those headlight trims Baltsiotis if that helps.

Yes, the headlight surrounds are original.

Original engine's water jacket was broken about 30 year ago. That's due to refilling of water too soon after a broken water hose. It used to use NA (1600) and VC (1800) engines. It is now using Mazda FE engine with auto box.

I was thinking that this kind of headlight surrounds was a japanese feature only conserning A6 cars. Ok, this is a "Luce" car, but even in Australia?
Surprised a bit.
Anyway an amazing car!!!

There are 3 types of Luce's headlight surround. The one like mine was used in A6.

This type was in A6 ss and early A7.

And this was in late A7.

Old Japanese cars are still running in Thailand, mostly as cheap used cars. But there are some old Japanese car lovers who restore them into good condition. Old school Mazda is also a category that is regaining interest.

Yeap, know that feeling, I've only got one original UB 1500 engine that hasn't done that same thing. That would go quick nice with the FE/auto I would imagine.

Yeap Baltsiotis, checked the old rockets this morning, all three have those same headlight trims as Rasun's Luce. Even my late 68 A6 has them, I'm assuming all Australian delivered A6 cars had them.

You are quite right. I missinterpreted the pic. I now notice its a "solid" surround, so its the typical for A6 cars.
