I like the 626, but please next time start your own thread rather than hijacking someone else's.

Mate, looks like a nice clean example there, even the spare ones. I've got an identical 1981 model, but with the auto box. Not on the road yet though due to the usual Mazda headgasket failure.

2 door coupes were always more popular in the US than in Australia.

When the front wheel drive Mazda 626 appeared in 1983, they didn't even bother importing the 2 door coupe version (except on special order).
The 626 was available as either a 4 door sedan, or a 5 door hatchback. There was no station wagon version.
Interestingly, the hatchback outsold the sedan.

I was amazed also that Australia could not "afford" in terms of sales a magazine like that.

Hi everyone,
if you need any parts for this car please let me know, you can have them for free.
I have a `81 coupe that I wanted to restore for a long time but I really don`t have the time and now I would rather give the parts or the whole car away rather than see it crushed.
I have lots of parts from engine components to small trim and electricals.
BTW, I have all the parts for the factory electronic ignition. Completely service-free and ultra-reliable; waaaayyy better than the points system.

The bad news; I`m in Canada, while most of the fan base is in Australia.
Well, if you can afford the shipping...I`m willing to pack and ship anything.

:-) Happy RWD-ing
