Ok I think it's time that I make me a thread here!

This is my second Rx5.
I got one for free in 2003. In 2005 we got our son and with that the idé of restoring it sort of fell.
One day I got a call from a swedish TV show who wanted an Rx5 for a show.
I could not find one in time for them BUT I found this one!

A 1977 car with only 65000km on the clock.
After a short testdrive by me and my wife we took it home.

It had been sitting for almost 10 years but worked really well!
The swedish spec incl. Powersteering, aircon, automatic.

I only did some minor rustrepares before I took it for it's inspection.
It passed with ease!

Since then we have driven it for just about a 1000km.
Pictures are comming.

Awesome Rx-5 there Magnus. Looks to be in fantastic condition. Wow wish I could get a free Rx-5! How did that happen for you? :tu:

A guy called me asking if I could help him sell it.
When I asked about the price he said "If you get it out of here fast I'll give it to you!"

Then what do you do?

The complete story is on my site btw!

I have got a new set of tires as well.
Installed a new cd. Had to put it in the glove box. I did not want to cut the center console!

It's a GS, no birotor. But it was in really good condition!
There are at least two Bi-rotors in Sweden. I talked to the owner a few years ago. One is in fairly good condition. I got a magazine article of it.
Here is the engine bay .

The rest of the pictures from that meet are at my site.

Beautiful car. I know people say these are very American styling, but it kind of looks at home amongst the other European rides. Almost like an old Jag or something. Terrific colour too.

It will be rebuilt. I'm missing quite a few parts but I think I can find it here.

The body is in really good shape (for a Swedish car)
It has been sitting since 85 in a barn. The owner then had done a good job on the body but after the first layer of paint it was put a way. The masking is still on it....
Don't know about the engine, I will pull that apart later.

We got our second kid (another boy) a month ago so I guess this will be a long time project. The garage is still not finished either!

So finally! All the snow is gone and the sun is warm!
Took the car out for the first time last Sunday. Managed to fit two baby seats and my wife! Works fine.

The day after I went on a monthly meeting with the local club.
Took some nice pictures on the way home.

Magnus I need a set of those euro centers for the Rx5 I know you know the ones I am talking about...... let me know if you can get them for me. Is there anything I can do to help you parts wise.... And did I understand right you now have a second boy. If so does that mean that you will be needing another (3rd) Rx5.
