The boredom of christmas has set in, so its time to upload some photos of an Rx4 coupe a mate and i are restoring.
Shes a bit rusty, but its complete ,genuine and hasnt been in an accident, so its worth saving.
He purchased it earlier this year off a friend of ours. Its a running 13b 5 speed.

Towing it home.

At home, stripping the car down, getting it ready to send the the sandblaster.

This car has some serious rust.

Here it is in bare metal back from the sandblaster. we got it home just before some very heavy rain. Its very important to get it sealed up with etch primer over the metal, other wise it will start rusting within hours.

A replacement section from another coupe came with the car, for this rear window area. it should make things easier.

When we were towing the car home, a car pulled up beside us at the lights, the bloke asked us if we needed any parts for an Rx4. he said he had a shell he wanted to get rid of, and i thought it would be great if it had some sections i could cut out to repair the rust.
The shell turned out to be mostly rust free. We will be using the sill panels, both door pillars, the spare wheel well, sections of the boot floor, floor pan sections and parts around the screens and drip rails. It also has very good doors and bonnett.
This parts car has bent chassis rails, and is only a 929.

Sealing it with red etch primer.

All primed up, ready for body work.

The car needs two front door pillars, so we have started to unpick everything around them, These two vent panels being the first things to come off.

Some more pics and updates in a week. we will start removing panels from the parts car to get them sandblasted.
