That must be what that mount is for. I'll check for the frame holes once I get it in the air again. Too many other things in work at the moment, including work itself....

Thanks for the info on the rack.

Mazda doesn't believe in retooling anything I am willing to bet the holes are there.

As for the rack yep it is accessory option i have the manual with them in it. Will I post pics of the manual... uh no, sorry I am still tracking down some very very rare accessories and really don't want more competition for them. I can and will post the part numbers specific for the rack. I can tell you that I have 2 of then one new (what is left of the box is Mazda) and one mounted. The only place i have ever seen the numbers is in that accessory manual and I know of at least 2 other forum members that have the same manual, they won't post this because I get to be the bad guy.

Please don't be offended I am one of he admitted GTR skeptics even though I have seen 2 or 3 pictures of cars with the stripes... I am only a skeptic because I lack information. It doesn't mean I am right, it more likely means I am wrong but I welcome being proven wrong because it only adds to Mazda history. Please understand my skepticism comes having seen 30 or 40 stripe kit variations on old school mazda parts and cars. Last year I finally got my hands on 2 original 79 Mazda Rx7 stripe kits I have been chasing for nearly 15 years, at the same time I found out that there is a specific stripe kit for the 80 LS Rx7 so it is possible I just don't count on it until I have undeniable proof

I hope I don't sound offended by your 'skepticism'. I'm not. Hopefully you can track down whatever information that will answer all the mystery surrounding this model. It would be cool to have those answers.

I'm not sure how I would provide undeniable proof (nor do I care, really), but the 40 year parts guy from the first place a rotary Mazda hit American shores telling me that it was a dealer installed package is enough for me. This paint is factory, as are all the GTR markings, so if it was done after the fact, it was done very early in the cars life. All I know is its mine, and is the only gold one around until proven otherwise. I really hope to see more of these surface from their hiding places. Get them (and EVERY other model of old school rotary) in the light so they can be saved!

Thanks for the luggage rack info. Keep your part # info- Apparently there are those that think it needs to be kept a secret. Keep yourself out of 'hot water' with them. It affects me in no way whatsoever.

Thanks for posting these for me!

Well, they kind of speak for themselves.... This is no small project.

Focusing on the mezzanines, so the floor can be just that-an open floor.

What a great project you have there CamanoRx2.

Glad to see you "GTR" being brought back to life. I've only seen about four of them, 3 Golds and a White one I used pictures to reproduce the gtr stripes from. Whether real or not, in the end it doesn't matter, I think it makes an already cool car look even better. Can't wait to see progress on it. :tu:

I saw your listings on ebay- The gold one in your ad is this car.

I know, is that ok?

Reason for asking, I had a picture of a yellow RX4 with one of my Mazda Rallystripes installed, I was using the picture to showcase my product. But the owner asked me to remove the picture from the ebay listing.

Doesn't bother me. Wonder why the other owner had an issue with it. Maybe he didn't want you selling the decals using his car so others could make 'fakes'.

Great, Thanks!

I guess the owner was getting unwanted attention, no problem I went ahead and removed it. Now I know I have to ask for permission in the future.

I think I'm more interested in your shop build pics than the RX4.

Ha! Stayed tuned then- There's going to be more of that than the Rx4 for awhile. Snowing like mad here at the moment-I've got almost 15 inches. Decking finished, planning to finish the sheet rock, wire, light, and build the access ladder. Just can't get anywhere to get supplies.... RRRRRRRR.

Ya same thing here in northern New york.Cold but no snow :td: :tu:
Looks like you have a lot of rolled insulation.
I seen your having a historical record snowfall there?

Insulation will fill top of walls, just prior to sheetrock. Supposed to get a break in the weather tomorrow, so hopefully I can get out and get things moving again. Then, I have to watch for flooding, because the rains will continue while all the snow is melting. Good times.

Does your building have rain gutters?

It probably has a metal roof and theres a lot of surface area up there, they could help?

I install gutters here in New york.

So if your building is 60 feet long with 2 spouts per side.Your looking at about $800 to do the whole place.
Thats $4 per foot with larger 3x4 downspouts.

You could hook up one of the spouts to a rain barrel and use it to rinse parts or something??

why don't you buy a stack of magazines from 1973-74 and see if there are any RX-4 GTR ads in them? That'll shut the doubters up.

I tracked down the history of an Australian racing RX-3 by looking through the "for sale" ads in some period car magazines.

I think you misunderstood- I'm not going to have any flooding issues in my shop. I'm talking about the region. Lots of rivers and river valleys. I do have gutters down both sides.

As far as any doubters, I could not care less if someone believes it or not. U Mazda verified it. Thats all I need. I find it funny that someone would choose to call BS on a car that I (and a scant few others) have photo proof of. To those that it matters to, knock yourself out. I'll even provide a VIN if someone wants it.
