Hi i have a question about my engine.
I have 121 1977 which is the same as RX5 but have piston engine (Mazda VC engite 1.. So i bought another piston engine which been rebuild about 6 years ago but been used for about 500km and then was sitting in the shed for next 5 and a half years. What you will recommend me to do with it. I have no experience in rebuilding or doing anything with engines (max what i done it swaped gearbox on my SP20).
So is it safe to put it in my car or it better to take it apart and rebuild it again. Or better to take mine out and rebuild it while using other?
How hard is to rebuild engine and what kind of tool i will need for it?

If you can cranck the engine by hand, just change the fluids, cranck it a few times with the sparkpugs removed and give it a go.

What you think about water pump? do i need to change it before i put it in or live it as it is?

Just put it in and make sure it has oil and coolant...

These engines really do go for a very long time... Its hard to potentially see any problems but at least if you put it in and have any small problems they can be addressed while the engine is in...

If for some reason you have a major problem then you just pop it out and take it from there... You obviously will be able to get it out in half the time you put it in (think warm day shirt off and beer icey cold)

Only when the cooling system was filled with pure water, there a change that the waterpump will start leaking.
Caused by a broken ceramic ring in de fan.
