Apparently the video was taken down shortly after I posted the link. Perhaps is was not intended for public viewing but I am grateful to whomever uploaded the video to the net.
This last July, Mazda USA held their annual dealer meeting in Dallas Texas and which also was the 40th anniversary in the U.S. This also marked the 45th anniversary in Canada and 5 years in Mexico. There are many references to Mazda's 90th anniversary too. The video showed the opening night ceremonies in which several old school Mazdas were on display. Included were Mazda's 1967 Cosmo, a 1971 R100, 1973 RX-2, a Rotary Pickup, FB RX-7 and a 626. I was told their was also a 323 GTX as well as others but are not seen in the video. The party was held at the Sheraton Hotel and Convention Center and was limited to Mazda dealers in North America was closed to the general public. From the video, it looked like a real high class affair. The second part of the video shows Texas stadium where all of the current Mazda models were on display.
Mazda was looking for early models for the opening night display and asked me if they could borrow my R100 and RX-2. I , of course, said yes and a couple weeks later they loaded them up at my house and trucked them to Dallas. They were returned a week later covering close to 5000 miles in that week.
I was really honored that I could be a part of it all.
