Wagonlover here,
I need some quick advice. Are parts hard to find for a 1971 Mazda 1800 Estate? I found one for sale, but I do not know anything about these cars. The car needs a lot of work but the owner said all the parts are there except for a window crank and hub caps. I would appreciate any information. My email is westeph@wowway.com

G'day

Mazda 1500/1800's are an under-rated classic. Italian styling, Japanese reliability. Body parts, badges, trim parts etc are pretty easy to come by here in Australia (through Ausrotary.com), little things like tie rod ends and suspension bushes may be a bit harder. I found its actually cheaper for me to get better parts (such as suspension bushes, tyres etc) through Rockauto.com than it is for me to source parts here in Australia for a 929/Luce and a 1300.

Most parts can be easily found in Australia, As far as I know its only the red tail light lenses that are unique to US spec but possibly the auto trans and roof rack as well.

My estate came from Washington USA.

I have contemplated buying that wagon as well. Now the price is even better, but shipping a non-op car from TX to MA is not cheap. The seller claims the right tail light is broken as well,so it may be tough to source that part. I imagine redoing the interior would be tough as well. How cool would this be with a modern Miata drivetrain in it?

$1495 shipped door-to-door as an non-op vehicle. $1229 door-to-door as an operable vehicle which this car doesn't sound like it is far from being.$1174 door-to-terminal as an operable vehicle, and $814 terminal-to-terminal as an operable vehicle. These are to me in MA which is further away than Il,so your may be cheaper. These quotes are from Dependable Auto Shippers(DAS) In Mesquite TX.

Big differences as an operable vehicle compared to a non-op. It would be worthwhile if the clutch was working, and the car could nmove under its own power. Brakes may be an issue as well.
