Well, I am so undecided as to what color to paint my 1983 Accord LX Hatchback, so I want to take a poll. I will add up the totals from this site and 2 others and paint it that color.

I will change the color of the interior accordingly so as not to clash with the exterior, so my current color makes no difference.

Yellow? White? Silver? Red? Plum Crazy Purple? What ideas do you have?

There is no better color for this car than the original Honda silver. 8)

Yeah, the stock silver is indeed great.Though his accord is from the next generation, I think the factory color on it was dark silver?

Before I vote I need to know what color it is now, because unless it's something hideous there's a strong argument for keeping the the same. Also, are you going to paint the floorboards and engine bay? Perhaps I am getting a bit pedantic for an '83 Accord :)

It is currently some sort of blue, but no shine anywhere and bad weathering. It is completely unsalvageable so I am trying to find a different color.

A lot of blue is offered up so far and silver and black.

I am wondering what people would choose as an "off the wall" color too. Championship yellow (I saw on an '07 Suzuki)? Orange Crush? Copper (I saw on a 1st gen Acura CL)? Porsche Red?

Not sure how wild it is, but Honda Championship White? Very sexy, and very appropriate. 8)

Well if you're dead set against the original color I'd pick something from the Honda palette. Championship White is probably the best modern color in the universe. The Acura color is called Sundance Gold Pearl but perhaps a bit garish.

I can't find a photo of it but the 2nd gen Preludes (introduced '83) were available in HORIZONTAL PURPLE, a subtle purple tinged silver grey.
That would be discretely distinctive & a period correct Honda colour.

HONDA HORIZONTAL PURPLE
1983-1984 METALLIC
code-20173 RP14M

That's awesome. I don't think they sold them in the US that way, or at least I've never seen one.
