good job man... it's very lucky because you can repair it by yourself, and the parts also look so easy to get. huh, in my place there are so hard to find the parts.

Your joking  I have had a hell of a time sourcing parts. So far i have Camshaft and Rockers from the USA, Rear arch repair panels from Norway, Emblems from Holland and Fenders from Scotland to name just a few......

Onto more bodywork. The rear of the inner arch was rusted through and i thought i would be ok to braze this up but on closer inspection its too shot for that so new steel it is.

Image

Image

Saw a really small bubble just below the rear no' plate. Bit of a jab around found a bigger hole  More work!!!!!!! :wallbash:

Image

Removed the rear Hatch and discovered some more rust <_<

Image

Image

Image

For now ive cleaned it up and treated it to some rust remedy paint but i suspect when i have more time i'll have to do something with it.

I did replace these screws though.

Before

After.

Made a start on the roof holes.

Ebay, Word on the street, 1stGenCivic.org

Done loads on this at the weekend.................

1. Fitted Pertronix Electronic Ignition. Essentially it means you ditch the points and never have to set them again. It fits in the dizzy cap so looks stock from outside

Image

I extended the wires in the kit using heat shrink butt crimps for reliability and strength

Image

Seems to start better and rev easier now

2. I noted i had some petrol leaking from my carb recently plus it seems that i have to crank the engine a while before the engine fires
Anyway ive had a rebuild kit sitting in the garage for a while so i thought i would give it ago.

Here it is sat on the manifold. Looks dirty

Image

Image

The carburetor spacer. I noted a lot of petrol was sitting in the manifold.

Image

A bit murky

Image

Image

Murky float bowl.

Image

Image

Image

Finished this job up. It was quite easy.

Image

Nice and clean now.

Image

I reused the small collar filter on the needle seat
Image

All back together and running great 8)

Image

3. Clean the inside of the bonnet ready for paint. It had been treated with ziebart 30 years ago but i want new paint on it so a mate stepped in and steam cleaned it for me ;)

Made easywork of it.

Image

Looking much better and almost ready for fresh paint. Glad i did it too as a few patched of rust are appearing.

Image

Got some new JNC stickers too but they can wait after the new paints on

The paint looked really nice to start with (at least in the pics). Sucks that you had to do all that bodywork over it but I bet it'll look killer when you get it back.

I got it back from paint today, the guy stayed until 10.30pm last night to get the paint on and today i prised it from his hands before it was fully buffed/mopped as i'm off work next week and need to get this project moved forward. Once i get it mot'd and taxed and i'll take it back to get any issues sorted. Got the vinyls fitted too. It was dark before i could grab any pics but here you go. 8)
