So after not touching my 71 n600 since i purchased it 9 months ago ive really started getting motivated... tonight i took measurements of everything i can think of thats important and drew diagrams along with these measurements... also took pics of every inch of the car... if any of you read my introduction when i registered the other day it stated that i will be doing a front engine rwd honda goldwing gl1500 engine and transmission... before i start stripping this car down does anyone have any recommendations on anything before i start performing surgery? by my calculations i will definately be moving the front seats back along with fabbing up a new firewall below the dash and a custom transmission/drive shaft tunnel between the custom seats i have for it... the back seats will be eliminated with a mild tub job and fuel cell in the rear... long story short... yall gimme some tips before i go haywire

At the shop I work at I have access to a Yamaha with shaft drive and once I figured this out my plans came to a screening halt. Go to the link below and scroll down to :
"At first blush, a shaft-drive motorcycle seems to be the perfect solution to power a shaft-drive car. At second blush, it becomes painfully apparent that the motorcycle's drive shaft rotates the wrong direction. Oops."

8803 is right, BUT, like all of the other issues you will run into, there is a solution..

If you haven't done so already, google the idea of inverting the rear end to correct for the 'wrong' driveshaft spin direction- it works fine with some slight mods for lubrication.. Now you're bac on track!! Please post pics- your's sounds like one of the more radical builds-- gotta see it! :D

Hey N1500..

I got curious and went and read your intro (I don't usually go into that thread).. wow- you're right up my alley! I, too, am building a repowered N, mine with a Honda VFR800/ Rwd.. so many issues same as yours- lack of space being #1... I'm with you right down to my RZR seats (they fit with the driveshaft as you know).. I have a couple of years headstart on you as mine is now running-- cool, cool project.. you're right about most guys keeping them OEM, but there's a lot of N600 knowledge to be had on this board.. Keep in touch and please post pics so we can see your frank-N-stien

No worries.. I've 'borrowed' many an idea I've seen in another guy's build-- that's the point isn't it?- to share info and  .. I LOVE the internet... no one should have to re-invent the wheel alone.. LOTS of knowledge and ideas in the BEC section on the locostusa site..

You know, I see those custom ATV wheels at Summit all the time...always wanted to see their four-spoke design on a JNC kei.
