Hi guys, I've learnt of this forum from a friend of another forum, who happens to own a Datsun 240Z. I managed to find a really hard to find car on the Internet and without hessitation, I placed booking for this car. I've settled the amount with the seller at 10,000 Malaysian Ringgits (equilavent to 2500-2800 US Dollars)

This is what I managed to find from the seller. Seems like the seller bought a whole lot of classic cars from the ex-owner, who was in his 60s. The car registration card was still in its old format, most likely that the car has been owned by the previous owner for over 30 years now. I bet it was a reluctant sale. The 60 year old guy's son was probably not keen in restoring a classic. The middleman seller bought his bunch of Fiat 500, Austin Mini Cooper 1275GT, some other older Mercedes and along with this Honda S600 for a bulk price I bet. The 60 year old's wife was definitely so happy with the bulk purchase. She had the chance to get the moss collected under the cars for years cleaned up by her maid.

Anyways, the middleman seller advertisde the car for sale. I only got to know about the car 4 days after advertisement date and decided to call the seller about it. He said, had I not called, he would have changed his mind and kept the car for himself for restoration. He did say, that there are probably less than 10 surviving examples of this car on the road. I knew that much about this car, as it resembled the Honda S800 race car I owned in Gran Turismo. The front of the car looked like the S800 minus the grill that says (H). This is the first time for me to restore a car, it is in a mess, but still very much able to be dealt with. Here's pictures of the car

thanks mate, could possibly be a JDM spec. i am sure that the american spec had twin tail lights. i wonder if its possible to source the left light. it looks different than on the right, which i think its the original

Well, there was no "American Spec", as the old S-series cars were never sold in the USA. JDM cars had solid all red tails. I'm sure if you're patient, a replacement split color lense will pop up somewhere (try searching Japan Yahoo Auctions, lots of S-car parts on there).

10 or less on the road for the honda s600 in general, in malaysia that is, probably much more elsewhere in the world, but naturally being this rare. i think the would naturally appreciate

thanks guys, i might be misinformed. the car is actually manufactured in 1967 according to the registration card and was on the road february 1968.

anyways, the car has arrived in my mech's place. he specialises older carburetor based engines rather than current EFI engines.






look at how the 60's car dwarfed compared to the 00's , but still a good comparison that cars has growned up a lot

Can't be a 67, Honda stopped making the S600 in 66. Probably what happened was, it was a new leftover 66 sold in 67, thereby titled as a 67.

If you're OK with posting the VIN number, I can tell you exactly what year it was made.
