For whatever reason, I love seeing normal, everyday cars preserved like this. I would love to maintain a collection like this someday.

That looks to be a US Honda museum...all of the cars I see are LHD, USDM cars. Were the S cars ever sold here? I thought the N/Z series were the first cars Honda sold here.

I've been through this museum a few times, it's at the Motegi circuit about 3.5 hours from Tokyo iirc. 45 mins or so from the town of Mito. Exceptional collection of both cars and motorcycles from every manufacturer. The cars and bikes shown are always notable for some reason, be it a novel design or racing/sales success in the market. They were all game-changers of one kind. At least for the motorcycle side, there are 6 full time Honda mechanics who are tasked with restoring the increasing amount of collectible bikes, from ancient little things to fairly current spec Grand Prix machines. I don't know how many people are actually involved, what with parts acquisitions, logistics, inventory, etc. There's also a neat store within the museum, I picked up some cool things there. If I remember, I'll see if I can get some pics when I get back home tonight or tmw.

If you are vacationing in Tokyo, IT IS WORTH THE TIME AND EFFORT TO GO HERE. Take a train to Mito and then cab out. There are some fantastic little bike shops in the area, also, like the original Nankai (remember those leathers from the 80's??) store.

The museum collection you speak of, and that in the Speedhunters story, are two different collections on two different countries...

It's neat to see SSR wheels on actual race cars. 8)
