Hi folks,

The JNC website has been one of my daily website visits for a year now and I think its time to get more involved. So yeah, I own a real piece of Hungarian built Japanese Automotive History! After i finally got a job that could justify owning a car I went and bought a 2005 Suzuki Wagon R+ VVT  . Now that you´re all thinking "what the hell were you thinking?" let me explain my background for this decision.

Back in 2000 I visited Japan and fell in love with Kei cars. As very few real kei cars make it to Europe the choice here is very limited. Living in Denmark I also suffer from the worlds highest car taxes and severe rust problems on old cars due to salt on the roads in winter and the nordic weather. I had to pass on a cheap AE86 and an old Corrolla hatchback for this very reason. The only Kei cars here are the Daihatsu Coure, a few imported Subaru Vivios and the very popular European built version of the Wagon R. I had fallen for a Toyota Bb in Tokyo so I went for the Wagon R+ because of its similar boxy shape.

I don´t regret my decision today too much because the car is really comfortable, tall and very versatile. But I do wish it had more style and charisma. There are a lot of Wagon Rs in Denmark and most are driven by retired people at annoyingly slow speeds. My late model VVT can keep up with the trafic on motorways and it accelarates well, while still being very cheap to run. Now I just want to take it to the next step - but on a tight budget. I am looking for a clean simple way of making my car look like its owner is 36 and not 76. So, I have signed up here and will start a project thread shortly.

Best greetings from Denmark. :)

Welcome to the site.

I will say you're possibly the only WagonR + owner... however, I happen to daily a WagonR (kei) lol
She's not pretty, but I've gone back and forth with different kits, wheels and so forth. Finally found a comfortable setup. Just needs paint.
It is a very fun car though. I've taken mine to a few AutoX events. It goes up on two wheels pretty easy. lol But mine is the same height as yours and around 12 inches or less wide.

The funny thing of the WagonR (just as with the Opel model of that car, the Opel Agila): the car was originally intended for young families, but here in the Netherlands the only people you see driving one are beyond the age of 60. I am interested in what you are planning to do with this WagonR+, hope you can get the image of this car to be what it was intended to be :P. And I am wondering what exactly is the difference between the WagonR+ and the WagonR?

WagonR+ is about 12 inches wider and usually comes with a K10A engine.
WagonR is skinny and comes with an F6A or K6A.
Those are the main differences.

This is mine a couple of months ago at autoX. It's a little skinnier than the civic in front of it.
