hey guys. so i might wana be adding a oldskool touch to my dad's ( soon to be mine) toyota matrix. I was thinking that a nice oldskool set of rims would do the job. problem is I dont even know where to look for any. do you guys have a suggestion where to look from some on sale? they could be used or new just kinda in the oldskool jdm styles. also who made wheels in this bolt pattern back in the day? im guessing not alot cuz it was a uncommon bolt pattern. thanx for the help guys :tu:

This bolt pattern didn;t really come around until the modern Subarus and Volkswagens. I'd bet there isn't any car with a 5x100 pattern before the late 80s. :?

Plus with the high positive offsets these cars like, anything older will probably stick out anyway.

Might look into the Rota RB?

I'd look at euro wheels on vwvortex and stuff. Lots of higher-mid offset wheels floating around, but not too old. Prolly the oldest looking wheel you'll find easily available would be bbs rs.

Good call. A BBS RS is probably as close as you're going to get to true "old school". :tu:

You can also get the 17x7 Rota GT3 in that bolt pattern (looks like older GAB wheels).

If you want smaller, they list a 15x7 5x100 Rota RB too...

thanx for the help. after talking with some of the local matrix guys ive gotten some more direction. one of the guys is running the sportmax/xxr 002 in a 16x8 0 offset 5x100/5x114.3 with 205/45/16 tires. he's pretty slammed though. with a fender roll in the front and rear i should be able to pull this off with no problem he said. he also suggested a 205/55 or 60 series tire to get rid of some of the wheel gap since my car will only be like 2 inches lowered max since ill be daily driving this everywhere. got 2 other routes I could possibly go as well. either use some bolt pattern adapters I found from 5x100 to 5x114 (1 inch thick adapters). this way I could get some oldskool rims in a 16x7 0 offset or + offset to be around the same fitment as the 002. or I could just save the money and just get some new tires for the OEM rims call it a day. we shall see. the matrix with the 002 does look amazing though :tu:

You could get a set of fiero gt wheels. They're a classic mesh design and really don't look that bad. Offset's pretty weak but what do you expect from OEM? Last set I saw on craigslist was $100.

They're 15x7. I don't know the offset but I'd guess around +35

This post is useless without pics. 8)

Honestly, that fitment sounds insanely aggressive...
