what options do i have if i cannot find windscreen rubbers for my car anywere in the world?
i have a Datsun c30 Laurel, also called Datsun 1800.
It has some rust spots under the windscreen rubber and the rubber itself isnt very good as well.
I am looking at ebay and dtasun forums for quite some time now but cannot find anything.
I was hoping maybe a 510 rubber would fit but after some measuring that wont fit at all.

What options do i have?

pic of the windscreen:

find a length of rubber with the closet cross-sectional profile and cut to lenght. Use a vulcanizing glue: O-Rings are done this way all the time

^ that's an idea, but your chrome moulding probably won't go back on

i've gotten used to the idea of leaving the old windscreen gaskets on when i respray a car
(unless repro gaskets are readily available)

i had been thinking about a universal rubber but i can never get a universal rubber to fit in the corners as thight as it should be.
the moulding is not on the car anymore so that will not be a problem.

re-using the old one is no option, rust has been crumbling in it, destroying the corners etc.
We dont have many companies that make this rubber mouldings over here.

Do you know what the part # is for the windscreen? C10 seals are still available, at a long-shot maybe the screen is the same.

i guess it is this one: Windshield Weatherstrip 72610-78501, or maybe that is just the chrome moulding, havent figured that out yet.

I'm not familiar with the exact model of your car but seeing as it appears similar to the Datsun 510 (1600) then i would assume the rubber profile is the same.

There are a number of rubber suppliers in Australia. I would confirm if your car is the same as our datto 1600's, and if so try to locate a rubber in Oz.

If not you can try sending the dimensions to a few companies and see if they will make you one. My experience with the Australian aftermarket is generally very positive in the sense that helping out on the oddball requests is something they love to do.

In Oz you can try:
Rare Spares
Scotts Old Auto rubber
Rubber Connection

google them under "automotive rubber kits"
