Hi all... been keeping my eye out for some wheels lately -and i just saw a set that caught my eye...
they look like they are built just like "wagon wheels" except they are solid -with no spokes -just a dish with no rivets around the edge either -just a smooth solid dish center -leading to the rim...

the only writing on them i could seem to find -was on the INSIDE middle on the rim -which with a tire on -would be unseeable... the writing reads as follows - "made in usa -then under that 2 17 81 -then under that 14x6.0 -and under that 6352...

i've tried looking online to no avail... can anyone name these -tell me the bolt pattern and offset is etc.
and if they are worth 150$ for the set??? they are in really good shape -no bends -and very little pitting (only when you get really close can you even notice the few there are)...

i think it's a fair price -yet i have NO idea...

i am hoping someone will tell me if they really are worth what the guy wants for them -because if they are -i want to move quick on them...

Why are you so keen for them to have a name? For internet-points?

Just measure the PCD and offset yourself. Offer him $100.

I wouldn't be in any rush. They are a dime a dozen and, in my opinion, worthless. They are insanely heavy, prone to rust, and are not very attractive (subjective).

They are originally made to be fake wire wheels, manufactured by tons of different companies throughout the 70s and 80s. People often tossed the wire "basket" to make them into smooth chrome wheels.

FYI, decent quality new chrome smoothies are only about $50-70 each. And you have a lot more options in sizes/offsets.



How they looked with the wires, which you may have seen...

oh wow -thanx john -i guess i just forgot about that XD- yeah they are heavy as balls for sure -i just liked the chrome -and the set seems cheap enough... i just wish i knew if they were going to fit -it's a bit out ov the way -and i didn't get to get to fit one on as i had wanted too...

i guess nobody knew what those numbers stood for then...

2 17 81 is obviously a production date. These were made on February 17th, 1981.

6352 is a part number, but without a manufacturer name the part number won't do you any good.


I've seen a lot of American made wheels from the 70s/80s and they were all stamped thusly, inside the rim (invisible with a tire on).

FWIW, my wheels were made by Appliance, thanks to someone who identified my them on 1stgencelica

i did buy them -yet am going to save them for another project down the line.
i decided to just paint the wheels i have for now. they came out nice.
