Picked these up in a trade, 14x7 zero offset. Absolutely nothing cast into the back side of the wheels that I can see. Will try to clean the back side and see if there's any info at all. Looks a bit like Appliance mesh? Except maybe for the stepped lip. Anyone have any ideas?

I think those are Western Mesh. The way I always knew it was that Appliance Mesh was straight lip where as Western Mesh was stepped...

Makes sense. I had a set of Appliance mesh that the centers looked just like these but they had the straight lip. :tu:

After some digging, right lip for Western, wrong mesh design... :x

The search continues...

FYI, after looking around my other two sets of Westerns, they both have "WESTERN WHEEL COMPANY" cast into the back side of the spokes...

Although, here's a FWD Western mesh with a similar spoke design...

Finally took the best looking one and scrubbed the back side of it down to spotlessly clean. You can juuust faintly make out where it says "SHELBY RACING 14X7" on the back side of the center. :|

Anybody want some wheels? :P

Carrol Shelby did make some cool aftermarket rims back in the day...some Saabs actually came with a really attractive Minilite copy. I'll pull up a link later when I'm on an actual computer. :)

They seem to be mostly all copies of other designs though...

Agreed, but the centers of the Minilite copies are unique enough to take note of...kind of a round shape vs. the usual octagon shape.

The first time I clicked on this thread, I thought the wheels looked familiar. Today, I clicked on it again and thought, "Shelby?" but saw it was answered already...

And I remember those minilite knockoffs. I remember wanting a set of those back in the day but could not afford them. By the time I could afford a set of wheels, I was into the +1 look of 15-inchers so ended up buying a set of Enkei 92 (Shelbys only came in 14" for 4-lug wheels, IIRC)...

these bad boys? they look a lot like the western wires in that picture above, but mesh wheels always use each others designs so not sure. sorry to resurrect the thread, but it's not too dead, still 2012  Image

Those appear to be chrome, though? I believe all the Westerns are polished aluminum. From the lip shape on your wheels, they appear to be chrome plated steel (the barrels at least)? Might want to go around them with a magnet and see if they are in fact steel barrels.
